I am truly blessed to be back home and also blessed I experienced a once in a lifetime opportunity in Ireland. I got a chance to meet the real people of Donegal. The access was unreal. My group was able to get into the homes and business for our documentary, Made in Donegal.</p> <p class="p1">The trip has given me confidence within myself to pursue my dreams in video production. As a senior at Ohio University, the program truly answered all the questions I had before I graduated. I highly suggest to anyone who are unsure about their life after graduation, go abroad and as the hard questions upon yourself. It speaks for itself, and I think people should read it when they feel down. What is most important is the possibilities to do anything. I choose to go on this trip to Ireland. </p> <p>My friend and I took a break from shooting and was able to walk around on Horns Head, a few miles from Dunfanaghy. I honestly didn’t think I would be able to last 30 minutes in the cold wind mountain side of Donegal. We saw a tiny building and decided to walk in the cold wet ground, but we made it.</p> <p>I can say this picture represent every bit accomplishment I have done in the past two years at Ohio University. Where I come from and where I am now. Ramelton Country Market celebrate their 35th birthday. </p> <p>Saturday was a big day for the country market in Town Hall Ramelton, Co. Donegal. My documentary group was filming and I snap a few photographs for the <a href="http://donegalnews.com/">Donegal News</a>. I later find out it was published in the Friday, July 20 issue. I’m super excited! My first ever photo essay published! </p> <p>The <a href="https://www.facebook.com/pages/Ramelton-Country-Markets-Ltd/282429497380">Ramelton Country Market</a> is a small operation that caters people taste buds and stresses the importance of family. Each Saturday, treats, produce, meats and crafts carefully lay on the tables. A blue rope is place before the customers and drop at 11 a.m. Its an all out brawl to pick up the best foods in the one area.</p> <p>Mary T Diver, the chairperson of the Ramelton Country Market open her heart and soul to my group. The market is a major piece of her past, present, and her future. The people who volunteer and make organic and local goods have passion for what they do, food. I highly recommended anyone who is in Donegal, to check out the market every Saturday. Its an experienced needed. </p> <p>Tomorrow, Saturday July 20 we will be at the market again shooting for our documentary and a formal interview with Mary. What? Who knew that such a slow-moving county like Donegal could allow for time to speed by!? I’m loving every minute and appreciate the landscape every time I see it. Yesterday, my documentary group and I traveled to Rathmullan House, about 30km up the road from our flats. This had to be one of the most beautiful places I’ve seen yet. Right outside of the hotel, which has won a great number of awards for its accommodations as well as its food, lies a beach where you can relax with your food and drinks. We were lucky enough to see horses racing by and sail boats anchored just off shore. After interviewing their head chef, they treated us to two large bowls of mussels, homemade chips, salad from their Walled Garden, fresh deli meats like salami and prosciutto, chicken liver patté, and even fresh fish like smoked salmon and mackerel. Because our documentary is on the local foods of Ireland, I’m sure they were trying to impress us. Either way, I’d say “that’s living”! This trip is by far my most favorite adventure and experience I’ve ever had. Next to the fantastic opportunities I have had, the people I have met are making this trip more than worthwhile. Ultimately, I would love to land a career that allows me to interact with people and experience what the world’s cultures have to offer. I headed out the door as quick as I can leaving my preheated left overs with Sam Girton to a burning building a few minutes from Ballyraine Campus. </p> <p>No fire, but a lot of smoke. My clothes and my hair smell smokey. I got close and was able to get a photograph of the owner of the Lighting Concepts. Luckily, his shop was not effected by the fire. The firefighters contain the top part of the building. </p> <p>I sent the photographs back to the paper, but I didn’t get my photographs published. I was disappointed, but had a great experience in photographing spot news. A combination of weather change and fatigue got me down. A tip for those who are going abroad, bring extra vitamin tablets! Asides from my sickness, I was able to get better when my group went to the Rathmullan House, a five star luxury hotel and food destination. It was the first time our group was able to work together as a team. I can never been any happier that day. <br/><br/>During our stay at Rathmullan House, we were treated by the chef a gourmet lunch. It was a feast on its own for six people. We also traveled down to the beach and saw a gorgeous mountains and small  villages on the other side. <br/><br/>It has been three weeks since I landed in Ireland, and I have to say this is the first time I have never seen anything so beautiful.
